Animal Science
Animal science enables you to really understand how animals function and how humans interact with them for food production, companionship, leisure and conservation.
There is a focus on physiology, nutrition, health and welfare, as well as other scientific disciplines that underpin the management of captive and domesticated animals in a range of environments.
With a practical approach that considers the whole animal, you'll learn how
to apply this knowledge to issues relating to livestock production, bio-ethics
and sustainable food production. You will also learn about animal behaviour and
welfare. We are proud of our 100% overall satisfaction rating in the National Student Survey, 2018.
Our courses in animal science are excellent preparation for any animal-based career, whether working in industry, research, education or the veterinary sector. You could work in animal nutrition, advisory services, consultancy in the agricultural and or companion animal industries or the charitable sector.
