St Patrick's Hall

St Patrick's Hall has 297 rooms across two main areas. Each area is set out in a quadrangle. Most rooms include washbasins. Other bathroom facilities are shared.

St Patrick’s Hall’s catered room types come with the Gold eating plan. This is intended to allow you to purchase your main meal each day during the 31 weeks of term via a weekly credit of £65.52 which is included in the weekly rent. To find out what eating outlets are listed in the Gold plan, visit Clever Cuisine’s website. Selected eating outlets will be open during university closures for students to eat at, or purchase food from.

The Eat at Northcourt catering facility is adjacent to St Patrick's Hall.

  • Shared kitchenettes are provided for drinks and simple meals.
  • Located just a few minutes’ walk from the entrance to campus, shops and bus stop serving Reading town centre and train station.
  • Junior common room with communal television, DVD player, pool table and snooker room.
  • 40-week residency period available.

Accommodation Guarantee


Prospective students are guaranteed a place in halls if they are:

  • A new full-time undergraduate who holds Reading as a Firm UCAS choice and applies for accommodation by 1 August** and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 6 September of their year of entry*
  • A new full-time postgraduate who has accepted an offer from the University and applies for accommodation by 1 August** and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 6 September of their year of entry*
