Kevin is our technician for Archaeological Science at Quaternary Scientific (Quest), and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a suite of laboratories dedicated to Archaeological Science. Kevin is highly experienced in the extraction of a range of different micro and macrofossils such as seeds, wood, charcoal, Mollusca, Coleoptera, Foraminifera and Ostracoda, testate amoebae, diatoms, phytoliths and pollen grains and spores. Kevin is also proficiencent in the use of light microscopy, magnetic susceptibility, particle size analysis and regularly provides technical support to undergraduate, masters, doctoral and postdoctoral, and academic staff wishing to undertake work in our laboratories.

During the course of his career Kevin has worked on a range of geoarchaeological, palaeoenvironmental and commercial archaeological projects, many of which were based in London and the South East but including others in Ireland, France and Jersey. As a result Kevin is highly experienced in a range of different geoarchaeological investigations, using percussive and manual coring equipment and monolith and bulk sampling.

Kevin worked as an Environmental Archaeologist technician at ArchaeoScape (Royal Holloway University) from October 2004, before moving to Quest in August 2008, again as an Environmental Archaeological technician. As well as progressing in his career Kevin has successfully completed both a part time Undergraduate (BA in History and Archaeology) and Masters degree (MA in Medieval Archaeology) during his time working with us.
