Here’s Monday and the weekend’s summary of media coverage for the University of Reading.

EU referendum: Dr Jonathan Golub (Politics & International Relations) discusses post-Brexit politics with Canada’s CTV News and provided a post-Boris update on the race to be PM, again with CTV News. Dr Dominic Swords (Henley Business School) spoke to BBC World News about George Osborne ditching his budget surplus policy. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Enzo Raimo tells Getreading that the University will not stop working with Europe following Britain’s vote to leave the EU.

Cow emissions: BBC 1’s Countryfile features the Centre for Dairy Research’s research into greenhouse gas impact of cattle. Includes interview with Dr Chris Reynolds (Agriculture).

Robot cars: The Telegraph carries comment from Prof William Harwin, professor of cybernetics, on the first fatal crash involving a self-driving car. Also covered in The Independent and further titles around the world. 

Child development: Prof Lynne Murray (School of Psychology & Clinical Language Sciences) comments on a study suggesting iPads and similar touchscreen devices could result in the muscles and bones of young children not developing properly. The story is covered in the Mail on Sunday

Australian elections: Kris Wilson (Law) speaks to China’s CCTV about the Australian general election.

Meteorology: Prof Sue Gray (Meteorology) comments on a study on high altitude ice particles which could be harmful to aviation in the Daily Mirror
