University hosts International Workshop on Climate Prediction – University of Reading

Climate scientists from around the world will be converging on the University of Reading between April 19 and 22 to discuss the latest advances in climate prediction. More than 50 scientists from North and South America, Africa and Europe will be meeting to assess the current state-of-the-art methods in climate prediction, and to make recommendations for future priorities. The workshop will bring together academics involved in research with scientists from forecasting agencies such as the Met Office. It will focus on prediction of the climate of the continents that surround the Atlantic Ocean, and on predictions for seasons to decades ahead. The event is sponsored by the CLIVAR project of the World Climate Research Programme (see http://www.clivar.org) and funded by the Met Office, the Natural Environment Research Council and the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
