The University of Reading has risen three places in the QS World University Rankings 2022, placing Reading at 202 in the world.

The improvement in position compared to the 2021 edition is due to a boost in Reading's reputation with academics and employers, and places the University of Reading as the 27th highest ranked university in the UK out of 90 scored.

Professor Robert Van de Noort, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading, said: "Reading has been a global university from our foundation. Today, with campuses on three continents and students and staff from more than 100 countries, we continue to build our worldwide education, research and industry partnerships.

'The dedication of our staff and students means that we are in a strong position to continue our mission to understand the world and to do something about it' - Professor Robert Van de Noort, Vice-Chancellor

"In recent years, we have reaffirmed our commitment to be a people-focused institution, striving for excellence, and working with others to improve lives and societies for the better, here in Reading and through our activities around the world.

"I pay tribute to our exceptional colleagues and students, who have worked through and overcome the significant challenges of the past 18 months. Their dedication means that we are in a strong position to continue with our collective mission, to understand the world better and to do something about it."

The league table ranks the performance of 1,300 universities globally, from more than 6,400 institutions nominated.

The University of Reading performed particularly strongly in measures of international focus, with high ratios of international faculty and students placing Reading at 148 and 126 in the world, respectively. Reading also improved its scores for its reputation with international academics and employers.
