Information for teachers and advisers

At the University of Reading, we regularly engage with schools and colleges at a number of levels. We collectively run an extensive programme of outreach activities, providing bespoke on- and off-campus talks and activities for students, teachers and careers advisors. We also employ teams of student mentors and student ambassadors who can give the 'student angle' on life at Reading. In terms of teaching resources and facilities, our main library, three museums and Sports Park are also available to you.

As a School, we are part of a HEFCE-funded, Routes into Languages project: South Central Universities Language Alliance (SCULA). Through this project we aim to build networks and offer outreach activities in modern language to all secondary schools in its region. Further information on the activities of this project will follow soon but please contact us if you have any queries.

We also offer A level master classes in French and German. These classes are held at the University, outside school hours and offer sixth form students and teachers the opportunity to attend a class given by one of our lecturers on a relevant aspect of French and German in the national curriculum.

If you would like to find out more about the School, our areas of study and what we can do for you, we would be happy to hear from you.

Please contact us at for more information on our outreach activities.
