Terms & Conditions for Use of LRC Electronic Resources

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) provides access to a wide range of electronic resources, including e-books, e-journals, databases, and online research materials, to support teaching, learning, study, and research activities within the University.
Access to these resources is governed by licence agreements between the University and content providers. All users are expected to comply with the terms and conditions outlined below.
Authorised Users
Access to LRC electronic resources is restricted to authorised University members, including current students, academic staff, and authorised personnel of the University.
Electronic resources are provided for:
- Private study
- Teaching and learning
- Non-commercial academic research
- Educational purposes related to the University
Users must access resources using their official University credentials.
Acceptable Use
Users may:
- Download or print limited portions of material for personal academic use
- Save reasonable amounts of content for study or research purposes
- Use materials in accordance with copyright legislation and licence agreements
All use of electronic resources must comply with the University’s policies, publisher licence conditions, and applicable copyright laws.
Prohibited Activities
Users must not:
- Share University login credentials with others
- Systematically download excessive amounts of material
- Use automated software, bots, scripts, or data harvesting tools
- Upload licensed content to public websites or file-sharing platforms
- Reproduce or distribute copyrighted material unlawfully
- Use electronic resources for commercial purposes
- Attempt to bypass access restrictions or security systems
Unauthorised artificial intelligence training, automated scraping, text and data mining, or machine harvesting activities are prohibited unless explicitly permitted by the content provider.
Off-Campus Access
Authorised users may access subscribed electronic resources remotely using the University’s institutional login system and approved authentication methods.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their login credentials.
Copyright and Licensing
Electronic resources provided by the LRC remain subject to copyright legislation, publisher licence agreements, and intellectual property regulations.
Publishers and database providers may monitor usage activity to ensure compliance with licensing conditions.
Any breach of copyright or licensing terms may result in suspension of access privileges and may be subject to University disciplinary procedures.
