Inter-library loan delivery times
The inter-library loan team check all requests and search for UK locations. Requests are then transmitted electronically to either the British Library or another UK library who are able to supply your item.
Straightforward books and articles from the British Library can arrive in a few days as part of our membership of the UK Research Reserve (UKRR). If the first library we approach is unable to supply, then the request is passed to other libraries until one that is willing to supply the item is found - please note the length of time this takes will vary.
As a guide it's sensible to allow a minimum of two weeks for your request, and more if possible. It is also advisable not to submit requests for loans prior to leaving Reading on extended leave or field work, as loans may arrive while you are away.
Please contact the inter-library loans team if you haven't received your item, they will be happy to inform you of the status of your request.
