EndNote allows you to store details of all your useful references. You can then easily insert citations into the text of your Word documents and the bibliography is automatically built at the end.
There are two versions of EndNote: EndNote online and Desktop EndNote. We recommend EndNote online for undergraduate and masters students, and Desktop EndNote for researchers. To decide which one is most suited to your needs please see - which version of Endnote should I use?
EndNote online: workshops for undergraduates and masters students
EndNote online can be accessed on the internet from any PC. It offers the same basic functionality as the Desktop version, but has a limited selection of citation styles and very few options for customisation.
Workshops are running at the following times this term:
|Wednesday 31 October||14:00 - 15:30|
|Wednesday 21 November||14:00 - 15:30|
|Wednesday 5 December||14:00 - 15:30|
Desktop EndNote: introductory workshops for researchers
Desktop EndNote is available via any PC on campus via the Apps Anywhere service and can be purchased for your own computer for around £98. It offers much more sophisticated functionality and storage capacity than EndNote online, so it is more suitable for researchers.
The sessions for the Autumn term are running at the following times:
|Wednesday 24 October||14:00 - 16:00|
|Wednesday 14 November||14:00 - 16:00|
|Wednesday 28 November||14:00 - 16:00|
Please note that these are beginners workshops. If you have already started using EndNote and have more advanced queries, take a look at the guides and FAQs on our Desktop EndNote guide. If those don't answer your question, make an appointment with your subject liaison librarian for further help.
Attending these workshops can count towards the training component for the Red Award. Please bring your sheet along to the workshop to be signed: we cannot guarantee that it will be signed retrospectively.
