Background

Suralini Fernando joined the School of Law as Widening Participation Officer in November 2019. Suralini is an Australian lawyer and children's rights specialist. Suralini has worked for Save the Children International, Unicef, and other international organisations providing technical advice on children's rights programmes in Bangladesh, Liberia, Kenya and South Sudan. She also worked as a Banking and Finance lawyer for Herbert Smith Freehills and pro bono lawyer for the Homeless Person's Legal Clinic in Melbourne, Australia. Suralini holds a Master's in Governance and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (Sussex) as well as a BA and an LLB (Hons) from Monash University (Melbourne).
