Reminder: changes to Whiteknights building addresses
Monday, 24 August 2020
The addresses of buildings across Whiteknights campus have changed following the introduction of unique building postcodes.
You can find details of these new addresses in this spreadsheet (Excel, 11 KB). Addresses have been grouped into three key areas of Whiteknights campus - Earley Gate, Pepper Lane and Shinfiled Road. There are slight differences between the address formatting of buildings in these areas, so please make sure you use the address for your building as detailed in the spreadsheet.
You should use these addresses when arranging post or deliveries, or when providing addresses for visitors. In order to minimise the risk of post or deliveries getting lost, please make sure you follow the address structure provided in the spreadsheet. If you are unsure which address to use, please check with your School or Function office.
The PO Box system was originally put in place to help overcome limitations in Royal Mail services. However, over the years the system has become outdated - PO Box addresses are not compatible with satellite navigation and online mapping, and so by switching to individual postcodes, it will become much easier to locate buildings on campus. The PO Box system was also becoming increasingly expensive to maintain, and the University will save money by moving away from wide use of this service.
