External Incoming and Outbound Calls Issue

Many thanks for your patience whilst we have sought further updates regarding the issue affecting our telephones.

We are pleased to say that the service has been restored, and we are continuing to work with our supplier to understand the issues that caused this outage. We are going to continue to consider this as “At Risk” and as such will continue to monitor the situation and will provide a further update on Monday, unless there is any important update for you prior to that.

Once again, our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

 

Original message.

We are aware of an issue affecting Vodafone nationwide today, currently all external incoming and outgoing calls from the University of Reading are affected. Any calls being made over Microsoft Teams should be unaffected.

At this time, you will be unable to dial or receive calls from external numbers whilst Vodafone continue to investigate. Our IT Service Desk will also be affected, if you need to log an issue or query during this time, please use our IT Self Service Portal which we will continue to monitor.

Our teams will remain in contact with Vodafone and as soon as we have any further information we will let you know. We know this is a very busy time for the University and so are treating this as the very highest priority. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this may cause you.

We will provide an update shortly, unless we're made aware of further updates from Vodafone prior to this.
