Invitation to participate in 2020 Staff Survey
Thursday, 18 June 2020
Dear colleagues,
I would like to invite you to participate in the University’s 2020 Staff Survey.
This is the third of the three planned staff surveys we started in 2017 to understand how our colleagues feel about working at the University. Your feedback in the previous two surveys has been helpful in shaping the decisions that affect our whole community, in particular the development of the University’s Strategic Plan.
Given the unprecedented circumstances of this year, and the speed at which we have all had to adjust, we have focused this third survey on your experiences of working through the ‘lockdown’ period and how well the University managed the transition and communication during this time. The feedback you provide will help the University’s Leadership Group – the University Executive Board, Heads of School, Heads of Service, Heads of Function and the Deans – to understand your experience, and what you found most difficult and most encouraging or positive during this time. It will also provide critical insights to guide our phased return to campus and how we can continue to support staff through the next academic year. The findings will also help inform the work being led by Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic Planning and Resource, Professor Mark Fellowes, as part of our Post-COVID-19 Response Programme.
As with the previous two surveys, the 2020 Staff Survey is being run by an independent specialist research agency, Capita Surveys and Research. The survey is open until 6 July 2020 and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Your feedback will be completely confidential.
You will shortly receive an email from Capita with instructions on how to complete the survey. The survey is also open to all colleagues taking furlough leave, and a letter providing details of how to take part has been sent out this week.
Please contact Susan Thornton, Assistant Director of HR if you have any general enquiries about the survey. If you need any technical support while completing the survey, please contact Capita directly once you have received your invitation.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this survey. I look forward to hearing your honest and open feedback.
Kind regards,
Robert
