Springboard Programme - applications close on Friday
Monday, 06 January 2020
The Springboard Women's Development Programme enables women to take more control over their own lives and careers and is for women of all backgrounds, ages and stages of their life. The programme combines the attendance of four full day workshops, completion of a workbook, networking and co-coaching. The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 10 January 2020 for all hoping to take part in the programme.
We caught up with Julie Farwell, a previous programme participant, who had this to say:
“I had heard of the Springboard Programme but didn’t really know what it was about. But, through the Executive Support Community of Practice, I met some colleagues who had been on the programme and their enthusiasm persuaded me to look into it. Four days might sound like a long time but my Head of School was very supportive and the facilitator made the Programme, she was really amazing!
“The programme was very useful in exploring my work goals, in particular identifying what I was good at and enjoyed in my role and this has added focus to my annual performance development review. Since completing the programme I am more assertive and it has given me the tools to make contributions more often and understand the value my contributions have.
“I met a wide range of women from across the programme and the cohort continues to meet three times termly, after a successful application for D&I funding (something I’d never done before). These meetings have guest speakers from across the University and the topic for the next meeting is discussed and set at the one before. In between we use Teams to keep in touch, share skills and best practice and keep track of our achievements and goals.”
