Another session added to Acting Vice-Chancellor's briefings
Monday, 15 October 2018
Due to a high demand for places, we have added another date for the Acting Vice-Chancellor's briefing sessions.
The session is scheduled for 13:00-14:00 on Wednesday 7 November at the Slingo (formerly, Right Hand) Lecture Theatre in JJ Thomson building.
To book a place, please use this short online form.
Some places are still available for the London Road session (13:00-14:00, Friday 9 November, L022, G01).
The Van Emden session is fully booked and we will be in touch with some colleagues to check if they can attend on the new date.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor wrote to all staff recently to say “we face some significant pressures in the coming months and years, as do many other universities. These challenges arise out of an increasingly competitive student recruitment environment, the uncertainties of Brexit, the funding review, and increased pension costs. Meeting these demands while maintaining our financial sustainability will inevitably require cost savings”.
The briefing sessions will explain the situation in more detail, answer questions from University colleagues and take on board the views.
A summary of the sessions and the Q&As will also be shared on the Staff Portal for colleagues unable to attend any of the sessions.
