What is feedback?

Feedback is information a student receives after they have completed a piece of work and can be Arrowprovided in a range of formats. The piece of work (assignment) can take a wide variety of forms, for example a lab or field report, presentation for a debate, essay etc.

  • Irons1defined formative feedback as "any information, process or activity which affords or accelerates student learning based on comments relating to either formative assessment or summative assessment activities."
