Comparing the effects of different textures of the same meal on mood and cognitive function in healthy older adults.

We are inviting healthy older adults to partake in this study to help us understand the influence of different textures of food on mood and cognitive function. Evidence has shown that certain foods can help improve mood and cognition in individuals. Some effects are due to nutrient content and existing associations of foods. However, there is a gap in research to see whether there is also a potential connection between varying forms of food and mood status and cognition, especially in older adults. Findings from this study will help inform catering companies to develop novel texture modified meals to be provided in the community and hospital settings for older adults.

We are looking to recruit older adults aged 65 years old.
