PESTICIDES - GB Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) amendments

GB MRL amendments (adopted February 2023)

There have been recent amendments to the GB maximum residue levels (MRL) Statutory Register, setting new statutory levels.

In order to meet the requirements of international trade and to address cross contamination, new MRLs have been set in the GB MRL Statutory Register for the following active/commodity combinations:

The MRLs for chlormequat are set on a temporary basis to cover residues arising as a result of growing fungi on cereal straw lawfully treated with chlormequat. The continued validity of the tMRLs (temporary MRLs) must be reassessed by the submission of supplementary information to HSE by 9 February 2030.

The full details of the supplementary information requirements are outlined in the decision document available at the link below.

The new MRLs came into force on 10 February 2023 as indicated in the GB MRL Statutory Register.

Deletion of footnotes for mandipropamid

The footnotes outlined in the GB MRL Statutory Register relating to supplementary information requirements for mandipropamid have been deleted.

This follows on from an assessment that fully addressed the data gaps identified in the MRL review. All MRLs have therefore been retained and there are no changes to the numerical values of the MRLs for mandipropamid.

The evaluation reports, reasoned opinions and decision documents supporting the new MRLs and the deletion of the footnotes are available on the HSE website.
