Consultation subject and purpose

We recently consulted on four miscellaneous regulated product applications: two novel foods, one flavouring and one food additive. However, we have identified that there had been an error and an omission in the information published for one of the novel foods, and an omission in the food additive information within the original consultation.  We are therefore ensuring that stakeholders are made aware of these  and are given the further chance to comment. The consultation concerns the following regulated products:

We ask stakeholders to consider any relevant provisions of retained EU law and other legitimate factors (other evidence further supporting clear, rational and justifiable risk analysis, such as technical feasibility and environmental factors). This consultation provides the opportunity for stakeholders’ views to be taken, to inform Ministers.

A parallel consultation for the omission within the food additive (Opens in a new window) information is being published by FSS. Please note that the error and omission for the novel food was not present within FSS’s original consultation.
