OFFICIAL CONTROLS - Council discussions: Official controls – Amendments relating to animals and products of animal origin exported from third countries to the Union and the direct supply of meat from poultry and lagomorphs

The following is an extract from the minutes of the Competitiveness Council held on the 28 and 29 September 2021:

The Council approved the European Parliament's position at first-reading on a draft regulation amending Regulation (EU) 2017/625 as regards official controls on animals and products of animal origin exported from third countries to the Union in order to ensure compliance with the prohibition of certain uses of antimicrobials and Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 as regards the direct supply of meat from poultry and lagomorphs.(11852/21, PE-CONS 46/21).
