Finding the right fit

When he found the University of Reading’s MA Creative Enterprise: Film Pathway programme, he couldn't believe a course existed that fitted his needs so well.
Forging friendships away from home

Coming to the UK to study was a big step for Roger, but he settled in quickly thanks to the surroundings. He describes Reading as “one of the best university environments I’ve seen”.
It was a welcome surprise for Roger to have his own film projects screened in the campus cinema. Another highlight was when he went to the Rotterdam International Film Festival with his peers – an experience he’ll never forget.
Roger enjoyed meeting people from other courses and countries at Reading's scuba diving club.
"It’s not only my supervisor who has inspired me, but also my lecturers, classmates and friends. Thanks to all the people I’ve met – because of you I can move a step forward in a short period of time."
Putting new skills to good use

Since his master’s, Roger's used his new knowledge in law, finance and management to create a media technology business in Cambodia. He writes scripts for online TV shows, and is in the early stages of establishing a youth film festival.
"My new media technology company could help Cambodia's young generation put their leisure time into useful things, and let more people know about the beauty of Cambodia. It will welcome them to this kingdom of wonder!"
