A quiet revolution has been taking place in recent years with the rise of a rights of nature approach across the globe.
In this keynote speech, Monica Feria-Tinta discusses the transformations taking place in legal thinking to help preserve life on Earth, and the contributions indigenous peoples and Latin American experiences are making to this process.
These stories all of which are reflected in the stories that have inspired her critically acclaimed book, A Barrister for the Earth (Faber, 2025).
The keynote will be followed by a Q&A chaired by Prof. David Bilchitz, Professor of Law at the University of Reading.
The event is free and open to all and will be followed by a drinks reception and book signing. Local bookshop Fourbears Books will be selling copies of A Barrister for the Earth on the evening.
