Autism Wellbeing Hub

The Centre For Autism Wellbeing Hub is delighted to welcome Warda Farah for our June Webinar. Warda’s talk is titled Manifesto for Metamorphosis, a personal conversation about building your own framework for living in systems that were never designed for you.

Warda will explore adaptation culture; the pressure to optimise, mask, improve, and constantly seek external guidance, and question whether all this “be normal” messaging actually teaches us to distrust ourselves.

Drawing on the work of Dr Tasha Austin, Dr Mildred Boveda and Aimé Césaire, Warda reflects on what it means to reclaim authorship over your own life.

About Warda:

Warda Farah is a Speech and Language Therapist, Writer and Lecturer. Her work sits at the intersection of Race, Language and Disability. Her approach is guided by her own experiences as a neurodivergent Black woman. Whilst wearing many hats ultimately her work aims to centre Black Joy.

About the Wellbeing Hub:

The Wellbeing Hub is a new initiative, funded by University of Reading Alumni. The aim of the Hub is to bring together autistic people, their families, practitioners and researchers to co-produce and deliver neurodiversity-affirming activities that support autistic young people and their families to thrive and flourish.
