Ramadan Community Iftar

Building Community Trust Together Dialogue Society Reading, in partnership with the University of Reading and Fellowship Educational Society, warmly invites you to a Ramadan Community Iftar Dinner in Reading. This gathering offers a chance to come together during Ramadan to share a meal, exchange perspectives, and strengthen relationships across our local communities. We invite you to break the fast with us and take part in an evening shaped by reflection, conversation, and connection

At a time when trust can feel fragile, this year’s theme — Building Community Trust — focuses on the value of creating spaces where people from different backgrounds can meet openly and listen to one another. Trust is built through presence, honesty, and a willingness to engage with difference. This evening aims to support exactly that. Ramadan is a period marked by compassion, generosity, and mindfulness of others. Coming together during this sacred month allows us to reflect not only on personal values, but also on how we relate to one another as neighbours and members of a shared community.

Through this Iftar, we hope to create a welcoming environment where new connections can form, understanding can deepen, and respectful dialogue can grow. Our intention is simple: to contribute, in a small but meaningful way, to a more connected and inclusive Reading.
