Join Professor Duncan Garrow as he takes us on a journey back 5000 years to explore the real human stories behind one of the world’s best known but most misunderstood monuments.

Drawing from the highly acclaimed 'World of Stonehenge' exhibition he co-curated at the British Museum in 2022 – which drew 190,000 visitors and generated a bestselling book – Professor Garrow will discuss artefacts ranging from spectacular gold and bronze metalwork to unassuming wooden objects, each revealing unusual secrets about the restless and highly connected age of Stonehenge.

As part of this special event, attendees will also get an exclusive first look at a soon-to-be-launched immersive 3D experience that lets digital visitors explore the World of Stonehenge beyond the museum's walls.

Professor Garrow is a leading authority on prehistoric Britain, with research spanning long-term histories of burial practice, material culture and island archaeologies. His published works include Technologies of Enchantment? Exploring Celtic Art 400 BC to AD 100 (2012), Neolithic Stepping Stones (2017), and Grave goods: objects and death in later prehistoric Britain (2022).

This event will be in person and a Livestream link will be available nearer the time for those wishing to watch online.
