Event Information

Sensory experiences are often framed as sources of challenge for Autistic people, but they can also be rich, joyful, and deeply meaningful. In this talk, Keren MacLennan will talk about recent research that highlights these often complex and contextual experiences, from the power of live music to the restorative qualities of nature, and how this work informs how we can remove barriers to make spaces more sensory-inclusive. Keren is an autism researcher, working from a Neurodiversity paradigm perspective. She is based at the University of Bath and her research focusses on sensory experiences and how to make spaces more sensory-inclusive for Autistic people.
