Event Information

Join us at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology to learn about how AI-generated images are created and the ethics behind them. You will get a quick tutorial on AI-generated art with a focus on how generative AI portrays the ancient world, then you will get the chance to craft your own prompt to generate an AI image.

Please make sure to book a place during a time slot that works best for you! Make sure to also book a number of tickets which match the number of people you intend to bring on the day. This event is aimed for children from age 5 to 18 and adults of all ages.  All are welcome to come and participate. This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 7–16 November 2024. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.

For further information please see beinghumanfestival.org. This event is also part of the “Distorted History: AI’s Skewed Visions of the Ancient World” exhibit at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology. This activity shows visitors the biases and stereotypes about the ancient world that are promoted by generative image AI outputs. Please note that the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology has artefacts and representations which contain nude imagery. All excessively graphic depictions will be kept in closable drawers and will be signposted.
