The Stenton Lecture is the Department of History's annual public lecture, given in honour of Sir Frank Stenton, former Professor of History at Reading and Vice-Chancellor of the University. 
Professor Claire Langhamer is the Director of the Institute of Historical Research, University of London, and is a noted historian of feeling, emotion and everyday life in twentieth-century Britain. Her books include The English in Love: 
 
The Intimate Story of an Emotional Revolution and Women's Leisure in England, 1920-60.
