Essentials Welcome International and EU students

International and EU students

All the important information for International/EU students who wish to study here at Reading.

International Foundation programme students

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) will start as planned on Monday 11 January 2021, subject to any changes in government advice. To create a safe and supportive study environment, we have adapted our teaching, facilities and services to comply with UK government advice relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have designed a blended learning environment, combining face-to-face interactive sessions and online core course content. We believe that this approach offers our students the best quality learning experience in the current circumstances, for students on campus and for those who may need to study remotely temporarily. We are currently working on our timetable for the spring term and we intend to offer as much scheduled on-campus activity as we can safely accommodate while adhering to current social distancing requirements. This is, of course, subject to any change in local or national restrictions.

While we hope you will be able to join us on campus to study here, we wanted to let you know that we do offer an online version of the IFP. This option is only available for specific degree progression pathways so please do contact us at ifpadmissions@reading.ac.uk if you would like further information.

Study Abroad Programme students

The information on these pages is also relevant to you. You will find additional information for you on the Study Abroad Programme page. Contact studyabroad@reading.ac.uk if you have any questions. The start date for the Study Abroad Programme is Tuesday 5 January 2021, to allow for our welcome week activities and students to finalise modules.

All of this will be online as we are aware that many students will need to self-isolate (quarantine) after arriving in the UK.

Online-only mobility is an option if your Reading modules facilitate it (a small number with practical elements won't), your home university supports it, and you are aware of any implications of cancelling their accommodation contract in Reading if you have already booked (University of other accommodation).
