Enrolment 2023
Welcome all new starters and returning students
We are looking forward to welcoming you to campus. Below are the steps you need to take to enrol as a student on your course. Please remember to make and confirm all arrangements for your planned accommodation prior to arrival at Reading whether you are in Halls or local accommodation.
Stage 1: Online Enrolment
The first part of enrolment takes place online via the RISIS portal. Online enrolment is open for all new students with a confirmed place on a course starting in January 2023.
During online enrolment, you will need to pay your fees or let us know how you intend to pay, e.g., with a student loan, or scholarship. Find out more about tuition fees and schedules and pay your fees. International payments can take a number of days to be received by the university so please allow sufficient time for this as enrolment cannot be completed until fee payment is received by the University. We advise payment is made before you travel to the UK. If you have issues processing payment before travelling, please contact the International Student Advisory Team (immigration@reading.ac.uk).
You should aim to complete online enrolment by Thursday 05 January. If you cannot do so before then, it will remain open and please complete online enrolment as soon as you can.
Please see below for step-by-step guides on completing online enrolment.
Stage 2: In Person Enrolment
The second part of enrolment takes place in person. Once you have enrolled in person, you will then be able to access your University IT account and our virtual learning environment. As part of this process you will receive your campus card and username and we will ask the Student Loans Company to release your student loan (for relevant home students).
Please ensure you have completed all online enrolment screens including paying your fees (or arranging for Student Finance or a Sponsor to do so) before attending your in person ID check (and where applicable, Immigration check) in person. International payments can take a number of days to be received by the university so please allow sufficient time for this. You cannot continue with enrolment until your fee payment has been received by the university.
