This commitment is articulated on the University Diversity and Inclusion web pages, in the University’s targets for Diversity and Inclusion for staff and students, and in its Equal Opportunities Policy (2017), recently developed with input from across the University including from the Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU).

In particular, it prohibits unlawful discrimination against or harassment of other people including current and former employees, students, job applicants, student applicants, officers, clients, customers, suppliers and visitors. This applies when on University premises, outside the University premises (when dealing with customers, suppliers or other work or study-related contacts), on work or University-related trips or events (including, work-related social events or student social events under the University’s banner) and on social media.
