Your timetable

Learn how to access your teaching timetable and sync it to your phone.

The University’s timetabling system is called CMISGo. Timetables are published in advance of the start of term.

You will be able to see your timetable when you have completed the enrolment process and selected your modules. Check your timetable regularly for any changes and updates.

How do I find my timetable?

    In your University Outlook calendar:

Timetabled sessions are automatically added to your Outlook calendar.

Switch on calendar reminders to receive a reminder 10 minutes before each session starts.

If any late changes are made to your timetable, the event colour will change to blue and will be appended with the words 'Updated:' or 'Cancelled:'

    In CMISGo:

Login to CMISGo or Me@Reading to view your timetable.

You can view your timetable by day, week or month. Use the Timetables drop-down menu in the top right of the page.

    What does my timetable show?

Your timetable only shows your real-time (live) teaching activities.

It does not show independent learning activities, such as pre-recorded lectures. Academic tutor meetings are arranged separately and do not appear in the timetable. These are non-timetabled activities.

For the academic year 2020-21 your timetable displays both face-to-face on campus and online activities.

What you need to attend is different depending on whether you are studying on campus or remotely.

Which timetabled sessions do I need to attend?

    I am studying on campus:

    Using your Outlook calendar

    • You need to attend all peach coloured calendar appointments. These are taught classes.
    • Look at the ‘Location’ to see if the session is being delivered in a room on campus or online.
    • Do not attend grey coloured appointments.

    Using CMISGo

    • There is no colour coding in CMISGo.
    • Attend all sessions, except those marked ‘For students away from campus. Access via Blackboard.’ Open the event in your timetable to view this information.

    I am studying remotely:

    Using your Outlook calendar

    • Attend peach coloured calendar appointments where the ‘Location’ is shown as ONLINE-LIVE.
    • Attend grey coloured sessions titled ‘Shielded Timetable’. These are all held online and set up specifically for students studying remotely.

    Using CMISGo

    • There is no colour coding in CMISGo.
    • Only attend sessions where the location is shown as ONLINE-LIVE.

    Joining online sessions

Find links to join online sessions in your module on Blackboard.

You might also be sent a joining link or appointment by email if your lecturer is using Microsoft Teams Meetings.

Where do I find non-timetabled learning activities?

You can find non-timetabled activities listed in your module on Blackboard in the ‘module roadmap’. This explains how the module is being taught and what learning activities you need to complete alongside your timetabled sessions.

Academic Tutor meetings are arranged and booked directly with your tutor. They will tell you how to do this.

Get your timetable on your mobile phone

Login to CMISGo on a desktop or laptop computer and create an iCAL file.
