Support for students self-isolating after arriving from overseas
The UK government requires everyone who is entering the country to self-isolate (also known as being ‘in quarantine’) for 14 days unless they are travelling from an exempt country. If you need to quarantine on arrival in the UK you may do this in your student accommodation whether that is a University owned hall of residence, private halls of residence or a private house. On arrival in the UK you should travel directly to your accommodation to begin your self-isolation quarantine period.
We understand that this may be worrying but we will try to make this as manageable as possible. As outlined below, there are plenty of people for you to ask for advice or information if you have any concerns.
International Welcome Course
This course is designed to support students completing a period of self-isolation (or ‘quarantine’) after arriving into the UK from overseas. It can be completed in your own time, alongside engaging in your academic studies. The content provides further information about our student support services, as well as providing live discussion boards with fellow students and an opportunity to reflect on your own personal and academic development.
We encourage you to complete this course together with Study Smart (for new students) or Back To Uni (for returning students). Study Smart and Back To Uni have been designed to help support students with the transition to blended online learning this academic year. To enrol on the course and access the full content:
