University of Reading: COVID ready
Watch our video of what to expect on campus in the autumn term.
These webpages provide information about what to expect from your student experience in the autumn term and important instructions and guidance about life and study in this new environment. We will update these pages with new information as it becomes available.
It is our collective responsibility to adhere to all UK government and institutional guidance to protect the health and wellbeing of our whole community.
Visit our dashboard for information on positive cases of COVID-19 reported to the University by students and staff.
Please see our important joint statement from the University and RUSU. In particular, you must read our health and safety guidance and advice on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus (including symptoms to look out for, how to request a test, and when to self-isolate).
COVID-19 Testing Site
Working with partners at Public Health England and Reading and Wokingham Borough Councils, we have secured an indoor COVID-19 testing facility for the benefit of our students, staff and wider community. The testing site is located in the Great Hall at our London Road campus. The facility will operate by appointment only booked in advance and they will not accept anyone arriving without a booking.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, however mild, can get a free swab test that takes less than a minute. Tests must be booked or ordered as soon as symptoms begin on the government website or by calling 119 and you can expect your result the next day. Postal test kits also continue to be available through the government website. Testing is available for everyone, including vulnerable groups and people with disabilities.
NOTE: If you have any concerns about your own wellbeing, or that of someone you know, in relation to Covid, contact our dedicated team at firstname.lastname@example.org for advice. You can also use this address to report more formal concerns about behaviour.
