What is it?
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is a national survey of postgraduate taught students, run independently by Advance HE. The questionnaire takes around 10 minutes to complete and asks for your feedback on your teaching and learning experience at Reading.
Why should I take part?
PTES is your chance to tell us your thoughts about your experience studying here. The results help us identify what’s working well and were we need to improve. Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Van de Noort, and Heads of School read your comments to directly inform where we invest our resource to benefit future students.
How do I enter to win the graduation photo package?
As a thank you for your time, we’ll enter all eligible students into a prize draw to win one of 10 framed Graduation photography packages (worth £55 each).
What questions are asked?
PTES includes questions on the following:
- motivations for taking the course;
- information you were given to help choose your course;
- your experience of teaching and learning;
- the organisation of your course;
- assessment and dissertation (or major project);
- career development.
What happens to the results?
We analyse the results in detail and use your feedback to inform the positive changes we make to our programmes, facilities and support services.
Is it confidential?
Your responses will be linked to data held by the University for statistical analysis and internal reporting; however, the results will not be used in a way that identifies you. Please do not identify yourself or others in your comments.
