From Monday 18 March to Friday  22 March, the Student Financial Support Team will be working with the RUSU Student Advisers to put on some awesome activities,  fun giveaways, and handy money advice.

Student Financial Support drop-in and Money Health Check

Come and speak to a member of our team to find out if we can provide any financial support if you are experiencing unexpected financial hardship. We can show you a summary of your income and expenditure by inputting some of your figures into an online budget calculator. We will also give you a printed out copy of the Blackbullion Periodic Table of Savings.

Competitions throughout the Week

Shopping Basket Challenge - 18 to 22 March

Come and visit the Student Services Reception in the Carrington Building where there will be a create of food shopping in the Reception Area that you could win if you can guess how much the shopping costs in total. If we have more than one student guess the correct answer then you will be entered into a prize draw to win all of the items.

The Packed Lunch Challenge - 18 to 22 March

Try to reduce how much you spend on lunch each day for #UoRMoneyWeek week by making it at home. Get creative and show us how much you spent on your lunch each day with a picture and the costs. Students who who tell us what they had for lunch on each day and for the lowest costs for the whole week could win a £25 campus card top-up. Remember your lunch should be filling so please don't send us pictures of a slice of cheese!

How to enter:

On each day please email studentfunding@reading.ac.uk with the following details:

  • Your student number
  • Your name
  • How much you think your lunch costs and why
  • A photo of your lunch
  • Consent to share the photo of your lunch with its costs on social media. If you would like us to tag you in any of our social media posts please do let us know your social media details.

Chocolate Money

Who doesn't like a bit of chocolate money? We have plenty to give out so come and talk to us at one of our Student Financial Support drop-in and Money Health Check session 09:30 to 12:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday or come to the Student Services Reception during the week to pick up a printed Periodic Table of Savings Booklet.
