The school does not make the decision of whether your child attend their school. The decision is made by the Reading (or other area) Admission Team. For in year applications, they aim to place each child in a school within 20 working days. However, if you apply for your child to go to school outside of Reading, the Reading Admission Team will not have authorities over the decision, you will need to contact the local admission team for the area your chosen school is in.
Schools will require passports/birth certificates when admitting a child. Applicants can also bring previous school records, which must be translated into English, as this may help a school put in the right support for your child.

Your catchment area school(s) (also known as designated area school(s)) is the one for which your address has priority Whilst children who live further away can still apply for that school, but they would not be prioritised as they are not in the catchment area.
