Your sustainable career

The Committee on Climate Change has woken everyone up with the sobering news that the UK, and many other countries around the world, are not expected to hit their carbon emission reduction targets without some serious soul searching and change.

Although 2017 saw the UK emissions at 43% below 1990 levels, the UK is still struggling to stay on course for the 2050 target to reduce emissions by at least 80%. To do this requires at least a 3% drop every year.

This challenge for the UK requires many graduates to take up the green mantle and even dedicate their careers to saving the planet.

18-22 November is our Green Festival here at Reading which is run by Sustainability Services. In Careers we have lots planned to make you more aware of how you can bring a little ‘green’ into your experiences both here at Reading and beyond.
