    Supporting our Students (SoS)

The University has partnered with RUSU to bring you the Supporting our Students (SoS) scheme. This matches you to a fellow student or staff member (the choice is yours!) to help you feel a little more connected to our community, at a time when things are not quite normal. This could be for a chat over email, a cup of tea over video chat, or help finding the answers to some of your queries or worries if you are not sure where to look.

We have a huge pool of volunteers from a range of subjects and departments across the university, who are all looking forward to chatting. This could be a one-off chat or longer-term support as we all navigate the coming few months- it's up to you & your supporter to decide what would work best.

If you feel you would like support, maybe you just need a chat, then get involved in SOS by filling out the online form.

    Academic Tutors

Academic Tutors work in partnership with students and the University’s wider support services to support your academic, personal and professional development. You should keep in contact with your Academic Tutor or supervisor and meet with them, at least once a term.

Latest advice

If you need to self-isolate, for any reason, you must stay at your current address and not travel elsewhere. For example, if you are living in halls or private accommodation, you will need to self-isolate there and not travel to your family home.

See the UK government guidance on what you can and cannot do and why self-isolating (quarantining) when you arrive in the UK is important.
