Areas of interest
As an alumna (MPhil English Literature, 1997), I'm also a THRIVE mentor for the University and am always happy to talk to any student who is interested in pursuing a career in creative writing.
I am an author of contemporary and historical fiction; my work has been translated into thirteen languages and has sold over a million copies worldwide. My novels have twice been selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club. My novel THE TWO LIVES OF LOUIS & LOUISE was long listed for the Polari Prize and is in development for a feature film with Enderby Entertainment; my novel TOGETHER won Contemporary Romantic Novel of the Year and has been optioned for television.
My latest novel (2020) is SPIRITED, a Victorian historical.
I am a Vice President of the Romantic Novelists' Association and founder of the Rainbow Chapter for authors of LGBTQIA+ romantic and commercial fiction.
I am interested in literary, commercial, genre and children's fiction and I have taught for The Guardian, Penguin Random House and Literature Wales, among others. For several years I have run a literary consultancy which has gone on to help many writers to be published; several former clients are Sunday Times bestsellers.

I am a sessional lecturer in Creative Writing, leading and convening module EN2CWJ, 'Creative Non-fiction', in Autumn term 2020 and covering one seminar group for EN3MPS, 'Creative Writing Masterclass: Prose' in Spring term 2021.
