Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The Institute of Education (IoE) is fully committed to fair and equal treatment of all its employees and students, and to making us a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) champions are Dr Billy Wong and Dr Yota Dimitriadi, who co-chair the IoE D&I working group that meets on a termly basis to discuss the implementation of diversity-related policies and initiatives.

Objectives

The objectives of the Diversity and Inclusion working group are to:

  • Set a strategy for achieving greater diversity and inclusion at the IoE through the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010
  • Implement and communicate these actions effectively to build awareness for both staff and students
  • Identify channels for support for both students and staff
  • Harness ideas for activities/improvements to be heard and acted upon
