Postgraduate supervision

I am happy to supervise topics in applied microeconomics and applied labour economics. In particular I am interested in supervising topics related to the graduate labour market, human capital, gender and the labour market, and the economics of cricket.


I have been at the University of Reading since 2005, first as a PhD student, then as a lecturer and I was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017. I am an applied labour economist and microeconomist. My main research area focuses on the graduate labour market, with particular interests in: creative graduates; the role of preferences and beliefs in labour market decisions of graduates. I am also interested in gender and the labour market, and the economics of sport: with a particular focus on economics insights using cricket data. My PhD research focused on Human Capital acquisition in higher education. Before my PhD I spent two years as a research assistant at the Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO) at the University of Bristol, working on executive pay and firm performance.
