Background

Maria Asensio taught Economics at Zaragoza University (Spain) from 1988 to 1997, where she taught Macroeconomics and International Economy. In 1998 she moved to the London School of Economics with a scholarship from the Spanish Government.

As a Research Scholar she worked on the growth and development in Spain during the 1950s and 1960s. For two years worked as a lecturer in Economics for A level students at Henley College. She has also worked in the private sector at Ipsos MORI as a Senior analyst, working with leading European organisations such as Homebase, Somerfield and William Grants. Since 2008 she has been working at Reading University, teaching IFP and undergraduate students.
