Areas of interest

Wireless Sensor Networks.

Energy Consumption Optimisation.

Intelligent Routing.

Data Redundancy Removal.

I have done a PhD in Computing and Electronic Systems focusing on resource search in open distributed systems. My research interests span from resource management in constrained distributed systems to energy consumption optimisation in Wireless Sensor Networks WSNs. Currently I’m focusing on tackling the energy consumption in WSN using two approaches. The first approach is to use intelligent routing techniques with the aim of reducing network traffic and as results reduce the energy consumption. The second approach is related to redundancy removal in transmitted data using lightweight compression techniques and encoding. WSN has important applications in critical systems like: Healthcare, IoT, and environment monitoring.
