The Department of Computer Science of the University of Reading and KNIME  have teamed up to develop KNIME Certification Program in Data Science. KNIME Analytics Platform is one of the leading platforms in data science and machine learning and at the University of Reading we have been teaching Data Science and KNIME for over ten years.

We are at the dawn of the Information Age, and the amount of stored data in all economic, industrial and social activities is growing at an exponential rate. Skills in the field of Data Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning have become critical for competitiveness and innovation in a wide range of sectors.

We are introducing the first two levels of the new KNIME Certification in Data Science:

    - Level 1: Basic Proficiency in KNIME Analytics Platform for ETL, Data Analytics, and Visualization;
    - Level 2: Advanced Proficiency in KNIME Analytics Platform and Basic Machine Learning.

In a pilot project, we are deploying and testing the certification tests for Level 1 and Level 2 within our BSc Computer Science in the module on "Data Mining (CS3DM16)" (Part 3) in the Spring Term 2019.

The Certification program has been formally announced and introduced to KNIME practitioners during the  KNIME Summit in Berlin, March 18 - 22, 2019. For further information on the certification please visit this page.

    • The Certification program will help our students to demonstrate their solid knowledge and skills on a leading industry-relevant Data Science platform.
    • The Certification program will help KNIME practitioners too, in their Continuous Professional Development (CDP) and to show their ability to develop, execute and deploy data analytics projects.
