Research Travel Grant Sub-Committee

We regret to announce that the Research Travel Grant scheme is currently suspended due to Covid-19. We are unable at this time to advise about when it might be likely to re-open, and therefore we are not accepting any applications at present.


The Research Travel Grant (RTG) Fund was established as part of the Research Endowment Trust Fund (RETF) to support the travel and registration costs associated with the dissemination of research 'outcomes' at international events and conferences.

Every year, the RTG fund assists hundreds of University staff and students to present their research around the world, enhancing both their own careers and the reputation of the University. 

Application form and guidance

The University's Research Travel Grant Sub-Committee oversees the scheme. The Sub-Committee meets once a term but is able to consider applications on a rolling basis and usually able to provide a decision within 4 weeks of an application being submitted.
