Understanding the nature of human behaviour

From the fast neural timescale of a few milliseconds to lifespan development

An integrative approach to neuroscience research

About CINN

The Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN) is a partner of choice in understanding the nature of human cognition. We investigate the dynamical interactions that bring about human thought and behaviour - from the fast neural timescale of a few milliseconds, to the slow timescale of life-span development.

By using multi-modal imaging and high level computational modelling, we are in a unique position to contribute to dealing with global challenges such as autism, obesity, ageing and cognitive decline. We deliver interdisciplinary training providing scientists with the skills needed to for a deeper understanding of the complex interdependence between physiology, brain functioning and cognition.

The research at CINN focuses on the physiological and psychological mechanisms underpinning complex cognitive behaviours, targeting typical and atypical development and decline in individuals. Our interdisciplinary approach expands on strengths in Neuroscience by building on the excellence of our research in life sciences, systems biology, brain imaging, cybernetics, mathematics, psychology and clinical language sciences.
