"Through studying abroad my art became not just a canvas but a living experience."
In an increasingly international and mobile world, studying abroad can help boost your future employability. It provides an exciting opportunity to acquire numerous transferable and desirable skills, and study specialisms additional to what's offered at Reading. It's also a fantastic life experience.
"Throughout my degree I was able to go to both Rhode Island University in America to study art for a term and take part in an exchange with Wuhan University where a group of Reading and Wuhan students put on a collaborative art exhibition in Wuhan, China."
Experience life in another culture
We have partner universities all over the world, including Australia, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the USA.
Aside from the structured Study Abroad programme, we also offer an Art and Art History International Study module during which you will learn in a major European city.
You could also join RUFAS, Reading University Fine Art Society to travel abroad to experience art and culture.
We are an international team of staff and students and we are keen to promote a global perspective on art in all our modules.
Whilst at Reading you can join activities by Reading International and experience new work by international artists first hand.
"Through the opportunities and experiences, I have gained whilst studying abroad, I have received a scholarship which will allow me to continue my Mandarin studies in Taipei where I hope to continue on to complete a Masters in Fine Art."
