Key Facts

Ben Greet graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2011 with a BA in Ancient History and in 2012 with an MA in the same subject. He then moved to the University of Leeds, where he received his PhD in Classics in 2015. His doctoral research focused on the symbolism of the eagle in Roman culture.

In 2017 he started at the University of Reading as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant on the ‘People and Birds in the Southern Levant’ project, under principal investigator Professor Steven Mithen. His role in the project is as a cultural historian examining the role of birds in the history and visual culture of the region. For more information about the project, please visit the website:
